Moorefield Training Center (MTC) is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVO) small business operating on 691 acres in Moorefield, WV. MTC was constructed and completed in 120 days with the belief that “if built by operators, for operators, operators will come.”
Maritime Special Projects (MSP) is the maritime division of MTC, and is staffed with retired Naval Special Warfare veteran operators. MSP is working under the same concept of MTC, “built by operators for operators”, and has developed an Advanced Technology Demonstrator named the 42’ Advanced Interdiction (AI) Vessel.
History
MTC’s MSP knows the littoral maritime needs of the United States and the world.
Because of MSP’s experienced operators, it can bring the correct maritime tool, training and maintenance to the maritime law-enforcement industry and maritime war-fighter to improve the protection of our country’s shoreline and waterways.
MSP brought this concept of operation to Fountain Power Boats (FPB), Aug of 2009, and Partnered with them during their C11 re-organization. FPB completed C11 Feb 5th , 2010.
In the mid 1980’s Reggie Fountain Modified the deck on one of his 33’ Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) hulls, and delivered state of the art boat technology to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community. That hull set the standard for the Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO) while conducting Offshore Non-compliant Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (NC/VBSS) missions. Descendents of those hulls are currently operationally employed today.
Off The Shelf Solution
MSP’s 42’ Advanced Interdiction (AI) Vessel has now brought 2010 COTS Technology (Built for Heavy Sea-State and Extreme Conditions) and Proven Past Performance to the general public. The 42’ Advanced Interdiction Vessel is designed to conduct Off-Shore Maritime Law Enforcement (LE) Boarding, Counter Drug, NCVBSS, Anti/Counter Piracy, Gas and Oil Platforms (GOPLAT) missions.
The 42’ Vessel has reinforced lift points that allow it to be lifted by ships cranes or helocopter, and is C-130 transportable.
The Race proven 42’ Lightning Fountain Hull, has the Deep V speed record of 177mph, and the modified, operationally proven deck can accommodate a crew of three, and 12 operators. The two aft bolsters can be removed and stored in the bow compartment.
The current vessel configuration reduces the radar, IR and acoustic signatures.
There are four Crew Served Weapons Stations that can support 50cal., Mk19 40mm, M240, and 24volts to power a 7.62 minigun.
Over the past 2 decades, NSW, DHS/USCG have had limited success utilizing the current COTS Deep V center console, Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) outboard and diesel drive-lines.
The MSP 42’ Advanced Interdiction Vessel Incorporates Mercruiser Race Proven technology with twin 525HP engines, racing transmissions, and a Super Speedmaster #6 stern-drive propulsion system.
In the spring of 2010, the construction of a diesel, 42’ Law Enforcement “LE” (center console, walk around deck) version of the Advanced Interdiction Vessel will be added to the Maritime Special Project’s inventory. This LE Interdiction Vessel will have shock mitigation seating for a crew of two, and 8 Passengers.
Moorefield Training Center’s Maritime Special Projects Division welcomes any fully loaded / side-by-side / offshore “in a sea state” transit/ comparison, from any other boat manufacturer.
